I just really need to vent out and get all this off my chest because it's been sitting on me for way too long and I don't really have anyone to tell this to, I'm 17 and I work two part-time jobs, my mom's gone, my dad left, so I live with my older

cousin, I worked for seven months saving little by little skipping hangouts and saying no to stuff my friends could easily afford just so I could finally buy a second-hand PS Vita I'd been eyeing for a while because I wanted something portable and something I could

customize once I had it and then my cat suddenly started vomiting a lot barely eating and getting really weak and I had to rush him to the vet and he was diagnosed with an acute kidney infection and all the money I saved just disappeared into vet bills I had to pay on my own

every shift was just me hoping he'd make it and now he's alive and I'm really thankful for that and I guess Spider-Man would be proud I did the right thing even if the right things are always way harder than the wrong ones but I gave up on

the PS Vita and even though I should be happy I'm just left feeling tired and relieved and disappointed all at the same time and I don't want sympathy or advice I just want to feel like I'm heard. (also photos of my him after getting outta the vet)

SocalHabsFan That PS Vita wouldn't have been that much fun without your cat. Smart choice.

RangerNo2713 I'm really sorry this happened to you. Your cat is so lucky to have you, you showed up for him when it mattered most. It makes complete sense to feel relieved, exhausted, and disappointed all at the same time. I've felt that too, like every time

I finally get a little ahead, life throws something hard that wipes it out. You did the right thing even though it cost you, and it's okay to grieve what you gave up while still being grateful he's okay.

hubblebubblebish You absolutely did the right thing

Obvious_Season3398 There's always gonna be material items we want and all of it is replaceable and can be retrieved again one way or another. But time with our loved ones is something we never get back once they're gone, you did the right thing.

HobbyThrobby how you feel about the situation is completely normal, especially after having sacrificed yourself so much to save for the Vita, don't let false-guilt weigh on top too, you've absolutely done the correct thing but that doesn't mean your feelings are wrong or displaced, very normal range of emotions for your context

i do agree with the others, I don't think the Vita would bring as much joy if it had been at the sacrifice of your friends health

Due_Foot7447 i think most of everyone here would agree to gofund you OP, you deserves that PSVITA!!!

FutureScribe That's really rough, and while Kitty may not be able to pay you back with money, kitty will pay back with cuddles, head bonks, and soft purrs.

Finances can be restored with time, work, and a few social sacrifices. But replacing the living entities that we love and who love us in return? That's not really possible. I have no doubt you were saving up for a long while, and you're starting

back at square one, which is, understandably disappointing... but I hope when you look at that kitty face, and see the love reflected in their eyes, you have your answer.

oddchihuahua I would trade any of my electronics/game systems if it meant curing my sick cat. You shouldn't feel weird or disappointed, you did the right thing.

One_Film720 Look at it this way: You can always buy another PS Vita. You can't buy another one of your cat. Itll never be the same. The games dont change but you would lose that cat forever.
